Biography

Samuel Beecher, a Kansas native, grew up with a love for sports that led him to Baker University on a football scholarship. There, his passion for academics and mindful movement flourished as he studied yoga, sociology, worked in the library, and engaged in food justice initiatives locally, nationally, and internationally. After graduating, he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zambia, working on food, income, and environmental sustainability before managing projects across Africa with Catholic Relief Services. After nearly five years abroad, he returned home to become a Board-Certified Structural Integrator and ran Healing in Motion, providing bodywork, movement, and mindfulness education. He later earned a Master’s in Community Development, focusing on accessible health and wellness programs, and worked with a local nonprofit on healthy masculinity and relationship violence prevention.

Samuel is a proud father, partner, and board member of Dads of Douglas County. He spends much of his free time with his family and nourishes himself with exercise, nature exploration, reading, and journaling.
