Classroom of people doing CPR training

Need training?

Heartsaver CPR training is sponsored by the American Heart Association (AHA) and available for KU students, faculty and staff.

Classroom Training

Classroom trainings are taught by AHA-certified instructors. During the training, participants will review and practice with a video, as well as perform hands-on skills.  Once the participant successfully completes the training, they will receive a training certification card that is valid for two years.  Costs will vary for students and faculty or staff. There must be at least five participants for a classroom training to be held; furthermore, classes are not held on a regular basis. To inquire about training, contact Kelsa Ferguson at kelsaferguson@ku.edu.

Blended Learning

Blended learning is a combination of online training followed by a hands-on session. The online training can be selected directly through the AHA at elearning.heart.org. Once a participant has completed the online training, they need to print the completion certification. Then within 60 days of completing the online training, the participant must complete a hands-on session with an AHA-certified instructor. Once the participant successfully completes both the online training and the hands-on session, they will receive a training certification card that is valid for two years.  Costs will vary for students and faculty or staff. The hands-on session must be scheduled in advance; furthermore, to schedule a hands-on session, contact Kelsa Ferguson at kelsaferguson@ku.edu.
