Peer Health Educators
Peer Health Educators is a student organization dedicated to providing health education programming to the broader KU community. Through presentations, student outreach and peer involvement and awareness events, Peer Health Educators and volunteers – known as Peer Health Ambassadors – strive to increase personal responsibility, establish life-long healthy habits, and make learning possible by ensuring the health and well-being of KU students.
What would I do as a PHE volunteer?
- Develop health education programming for the KU community
- Participate in events – tabling, wellness fairs, smoke-outs, safer spring break, etc.
- Professional development opportunities
- Promote HERO programs
- Present to peers in classrooms, student housing, Greek and student organizations, etc.

How can I become a PHE volunteer?
- Email the PHE Office at peer-education@ku.edu and/or submit an online Ambassador Application on Rock Chalk Central
- Meet with the Peer Health Coordinators and Advisor to discuss expectations
- Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings
- Sign-up for events
- Follow PHE social media accounts
